Selling your home

Selling your home is an involved process that affects your family and your future. Before you begin this process, you'll want to ensure that you have the most up-to-date information.

  • When should you sell?
  • How do you get the best price?
  • Who sets the price?
  • What kinds of renovations or improvements should be made prior to the sale?
  • Who is involved in the process and how much will all this cost?
  • What are your legal responsibilities?
  • How long does the process take?

Many sellers often make very honest mistakes when choosing their Realtor®.  This often leads to a very unpleasant experience where nobody benefits.  Fortunately the mistakes are easy to avoid once you know what to look for.

  • How do you interview a Realtor®, what questions should you ask? Ask me, I’ll tell you!
  • Should you interview more than 1 Realtor® ? Yes, you should!
  • Realtors are excellent at marketing.  Knowing what to ask and look for in their presentation will help you see through the fluff.

Here are a few items to get you thinking

  • What is a “Schedule A” and what should be in it?(Hint – DO NOT hire a Realtor®  who will not put their Schedule A in writing and include it in the listing contract)
  • What is a Marketing Plan and are they different from Realtor®  to Realtor® (Hint – The Realtor®  should be able to show you why they do what they do and why)
  • Like it or not, you will be forming a relationship with your Realtor® .  How you feel around them is probably how other Realtors®  and potential Buyers will also feel...  Is this the right person for the job?
  • Why was there such a difference between the estimated selling prices that you were given from the Realtors® you interviewed? (I could fill an entire page with this one)

Below are some information documents that I have put together for you.  These will help you to choose the right Realtor®  for YOU.  If that Realtor®  is me, great!  If that Realtor®  is not me, I’m okay with that too.  Too many people have a mistrust of Realtor®  and much of that mistrust revolves around secrecy.  As you can see, I’m not your typical Realtor®  and I invite you to interview me for the job of marketing your home.
